Rice is the main element of the daily diet for the 1.35 billion people of India.
Size:  India is the second largest (by population) country in the world with about 1.35 billion people - second only to China, and on much less land. 

Religions:  India is about 80% Hindu, 14% Islam, 3.5% Christian, 2.5% all other religions combined.

Background of SICM:  South India Christian Mission was started in 1994, in order to train preachers, plant churches and change eternity for people living in South India and Sri Lanka.  See "History" pull down above for additional background.
